MAS announced BLOOM (Borderless, Liquid, Open, Online, Multi-currency), an initiative to work with the industry to enable settlement in tokenised bank liabilities and well-regulated stablecoins while managing risks through standardised approaches. Building on Project Orchid (established 2021), BLOOM covers multiple currencies (G10 and Asian currencies), domestic and cross-border payments and settlement, and wholesale use cases (corporate treasury management, trade finance, agentic payments).
